What's new with me--having finally graduated in the spring, I found that I had enough credits that if I pushed it through the summer, I could have a second degree by December. So that's that for now. Uggh some people love the student life and I can feel that engaging interest on occasion, but damn it has been nothing but stress for me over the last 5 1/2 years. If you loved university then you probably have a healthier outlook than I do, and I'd love to hear how you did it. Meantime my secret interest in textile arts, which I've suppressed, is begging for attention, so I'm torn between a master's in linguistics (probably sign language acquisition) and going to art school. In Germany or France, where we're moving in the new year. Thing is I'm having a really hard time finding anywhere that teaches textile art properly--if you have insight into this at all, especially for France, please please drop me a line! So take care of yourselves everybody and enjoy the new autumn!

The Munich, Germany implementation of a pretty funny performance art-like social event. Pretend to be part of some kind of conspiracy, dress alike, and do odd things at exactly the same time with another 50-200 members, for fun and to see reactions. Say exactly the same things to the press according to predetermined instructions....pretty funny in this city at least.

Site of the manufacturer of some really mind-boggling-looking language learning software. These packages have a huge list of features: 11 target languages, 30+ interface languages, speech recognition and error correction, games, choice of three types of learning path, evaluations, even schedule planning to see how many hours a week you'll devote to the program--this software is recommended by several language acquisition sites that evaluate such things.

Social experiment website. Get everyone you know together in one place on a day ten years in the future so it suits everyone's schedules. Guess that was 2010 at the time. I found this site by following the link on someone's poetry magnet-covered car downtown.

Just...wow. A few of these photos may be among the best I've ever seen. As someone below says though, it's hard to believe they haven't been touched up....hard to say. Beautiful though, just beautiful.

a research tool that lets you highlight text when you visit any webpage and leave sticky notes for yourself (private) or others (public). More features too. Very cool. Diigolet = the "introductory" version which you don't even have to install, and Diigo itself, the more advanced version, required you to download the toolbar.
